It was only a few weeks ago that we were in the sunshine, playing with the Schleich Croco Jungle Research Station. This week, in the wet, miserable weather, our postman arrived with a parcel from Schleich to celebrate DiNovember.
DiNovember is a month to celebrate all things dinosaury – and we do love dinosaurs very, very much. We also love Schleich [Hero was disappointed he couldn’t bring this HUUUGE white tiger home with him from Hamleys to play at the Schleich watering hole set we have this weekend] so it’s brilliant all round.
The lovely people at Schleich sent us the Schleich Dinosaur Cave Dinovember toys and some extra dinosaurs to play with. We already have some dinos and so the boys loved to be able to add to their collection.
WHICH DINOSAURS CAN WE EXPECT?
The Schleich Dinosaur Cave Dinovember creatures are some that I’ve never met before. In the set are:
- Herrerasaurus, Psittacosaurus, Microraptor
- Stone Slab
NOT JUST A DINO-CAVE
Caves are always fun to play with, but the Dino Cave is even more fun, because when you set it up, it’s a solid cave with a gorgeous fossil on it. Then things get interesting. This isn’t *just* a cave.
This cave is also capable of chaos and disaster! You can set up the cave to collapse on unsuspecting dinos! Dinos and disasters go hand in hand. We love this and after Lyoto showed me how to slot the bits of rock together, I was hugely impressed. I was even more impressed though [and slightly scared] when we discovered that it can also be set up as a CATAPULT. Oh yes. You can send a piece of rock hurtling through the air by catapulting it and it’s pretty awesome.
Besides the cave set ups, the boys’ favourite part of the set was the t-rex skull. It’s pretty awesome. The jaw works [like the Herrasaurus I’m told by Hero]
OUR VERDICT ON THE SCHLEICH DINOSAUR DINOVEMBER TOYS
As always, we love and recommend Schleich toys. They’re more expensive than your average toy animal, but they last, are painted beautifully and they are built for real play – outdoor play, rough play, being left in the rain for days play. They’re real toys, built with brilliant attention to detail, and the playsets can all be combined to create a huge world of free play.
