The Paw Patrol Ready Race Rescue Mobile Pit Stop – the newest addition to Ryder and the Pups’ fleet

The newest Paw Patrol vehicle arrived to whoops of glee from Hero. Here’s what we thought of the latest addition to Ryder’s Fleet.

PAW PATROL READY RACE RESCUE MOBILE PIT STOP

Well, there’s a mouthful if ever there was one, and it does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s a mobile pit stop made for the Adventure Bay 500 race, fetured in the latest Paw Patrol movie – and it reminds me of Lightning McQueen’s buddy “Mack” from Cars [which we love]. The mobile Pit Stop is there to give every pup’s vehicle the once over and make sure they’re race ready.

Inside the box: Chase, his mini vehicle and the Mobile Pit Stop – batteries already included!

WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

You’ll get the Paw Patrol Ready Race Rescue Mobile Pit Stop vehicle, plus a Chase figure and Chase racing car. There are instructions as always and it took me around 3 minutes to get it out of the box and ready for play. There’s no sticker application needed and no batteries to put in. I love that Spinmaster don’t make me hunt for the screwdriver and spare batteries [this one takes 3 LR44 batteries] each time.

WHY IS MARSHALL NOT THE PUP IN THE BOX?

Honestly, I have no idea. I’m writing this here because we were genuinely confused. Hero and I saw the movie and were thinking it would naturally be Marshall being sold with it, as he was the central pup in it all, but there you are. Maybe it’s because there’s already the huge Paw Patrol Ultimate Fire Truck with Marshall in it? Personally we’re waiting for Rocky [my favourite] to get a starring role somewhere. We want a huge recycling, save the planet type mission please!

Chase makes his way up the ramp of the mobile pit stop ready for a tune up

WHAT DOES IT DO?

First off, it makes noises. Car noises are brilliant fun. There’s car fixing noises [our favourite], honking and beeping, some engine roaring and the the PAW Patrol theme tune we all know so well.

This is a stunt vehicle according to Hero – like James Bond but for the Paw Patrol. It ejects the driving Pups whilst still in motion and that makes it very cool indeed.

MOBILE PIT STOP INSTRUCTIONS

After taking everything from the box, you can pop Chase into his little car and open up the back flap on the Paw Patrol Ready Race Rescue Mobile Pit Stop. Drive him in, up the ramp and he’s ready for launching action once you’re made sure his car is on top of the yellow pieces correctly.

Next, play attention to the buttons on the top of the Pit Stop vehicle. They look like four tyres. One of them when pressed makes all the fun noises, and the other pops opens the Paw Patrol Ready Race Rescue Mobile Pit Stop ready for play, and shoots the side of the vehicle out with the car positioned to eject. To do this, press the yellow launching button and your pup is slingshot out onto the track!

Apparently you can do the ejecting going along, so we tried down a hill at IBM – I wouldn’t recommend with a bunch of over excited kids unless you’re ready with your video for You’ve Been Framed. There was much yelling and tripping and stumbling forward, but it was fun.

POINTS TO NOTE

As always, it’s briliantly made with solid construction and looks just like it should. It’s going to be a huge hit with any little one who saw the movie too. There were a few things we noticed – such as Chase. Unlike other pups that we have, the Ready Race Rescue range don’t appear to be articulated and feel cheaper, almost like copies, which is a shame. Having said that, we already have many Paw Patrol pups and so it wasn’t a huge hardship.

In addition, Chase’s little vehicle which comes with the Mobile Pit stop is a kind of poor-man’s version of the other Pup’s Ready Race Rescue cars. This has been the case with PJ Masks toys too, like the PJ Masks Seeker that we’ve reviewed – and means that if your child is a huge fan of Chase, you’re probably going to end up with either a very sad child when their friend has the normal version of Chase’s Ready Rescue vehicle, or you’ll end up having to buy the Chase vehicle in addition to this. It’s disappointing – and these little vehicles end up unused and unloved by many, which seems like such a waste.

  1. One of the few programmes on the tv that my children watch over and over again, the toys are great quality and are not as expensive as some tv related toys
