Rain, rain and more rain is the basic forecast for us this half term and whilst we don’t mind a bit of puddle jumping, when we’re indoors the boys love crafting and building things. This half term we were sent a few things from Milly and Flynn to keep us occupied.

Milly and Flynn Foam 3D Puzzles – the Lion and Panda

We received two lovely foam puzzle sets! A Lion and a Panda. Lyoto built the 3D foam puzzles and although Hero was overjoyed at the end results, he was told in no uncertain terms by Lyoto that it was “stressy” to make these – which I take to mean it needed a little bit of brain power, which is all good in my books. The lion has been named Mr. Handstander because he can hold a handstand position rather proudly. The Panda is called Bamboo, and Jensen spends the majority of his time telling Lyoto that Pandas don’t actually like bamboo apparently.

Anyhow, we made them inside and then the sun came out [well, the rain stopped] and so they took them outside to play. They stood up to pretty good stunts and although Mr. Handstander’s leg kept coming off, they were full of the giggles as he soared through the air – and was easily washed off too!

The only thing I was a little hmmm about was the amount of foam waste that we were left to dispose of afterwards. I get that it’s obviously easier on both ends to simply die cut the foam pieces and leave them to be popped out upon receipt, but there was so much left over.

PUZZLE AND GROW WINDMILL

The second kind of set we were sent was the Puzzle and Grow Windmill set from Milly and Flynn. I saw this online a few months ago and was going to buy it purely for myself so this was really exciting for me to receive – except Lyoto decided this was his own project and I never got a look in. I crossed my fingers and hoped that he needed help…but he didn’t. Lyoto took it off, assembled it and may have poured so many seeds in that we now need to buy some more as they all attacked each other on sprouting, but the enthusiasm is there and he sees himself somehow growing radishes.

Thank you Milly and Flynn for the half term fun – it bought the outdoors in, and we took what we made indoors out!
