HERO AND HIS NEW PEPPA PIG PHONE

We spent quite a bit of time wandering around Peppa Pig World in Paulton’s Park and ducking in and out of the gift shop as Hero tried to convince me that he really needed the Peppa Ukulele in there. Imagine my joy when last week we were sent some noisy toys for Hero [who appears on the face of it to be a very quiet little boy and yet is the foghorn of our family] to test my eardrums with.

We were sent the following Peppa Pig electronic toys from Trends UK.

Peppa Pig Smart Tablet

Peppa’s Smart Table – you can win this below!

We have a Mr. Tumble Smart Tablet so we knew what we were doing with Peppa’s Smart Tablet! Sturdy and unsmashable [at this point] the Smart Tablet is loaded with 6 games to help with learning about colours, numbers, shapes, letters, characters and musical instruments. It’s recommended for age 2+ and it’s really simple to use. Pressing anything on the screen generally makes a noise and has clear instructions on what to do, and Hero has felt very important walking about with his whilst his brothers have their iPad. We love this Smart Tablet much more than Peppa’s Alphaphonics as it has an OFF button. On the bottom right hand side is the little power switch. This means no spooky noises from Peppa and friends whilst you’re the only one awake at 3am.

PEPPA PIG FLIP & LEARN PHONE

Peppa Pig Flip & Learn Phone

You can buy this one in Marks and Spencer – although I’ll be honest and say that Hero has NO idea that there are toys in there as I like to get in, get our delicious food and leave. Marks and Spencer is my special place.

Peppa’s Flip & Learn Phone is just like my first phone I had for work – except mine wasn’t as pretty piggy pink. As soon as you flip it open, Peppa giggles and snorts hello at you, and the little screen lights up with Peppa and George as you take a pretend photo of each other. The Hashtag plays a little jingle, the star makes character noises like Danny Dog or Candy Cat, and the question mark asks if you’d like to ring someone from the series, telling you which button to press if you want to get through to them. If you do, you can hear a little conversation between Peppa and the other character. I thought that there was an off button – the little red phone icon. Green to wake it up, and red to say goodnight. So I thought. However, despite pressing that and closing the phone there were still a few more chimes saying bye for now over the next few minutes.

The phone has been the favourite in our home – I’ve caught all of them at some point pretending to be on the phone whilst they think no one is watching.

PEPPA SING AND LEARN MICROPHONE

Peppa Pig Sing and Learn Microphone

This one you can buy at the boys’ current favourite store – Smyths Toys.

The Sing and Learn Microphone is a pretty chunky piece of play equipment. There are 2 modes of play: Quiz Time or Sing-Along with Peppa. This is my favourite Peppa Pig toy as a Mom.

Everything is operated with the twisty ring circling the head of the microphone with the Peppa characters on. In the quiz, Peppa tests listening and observation skills and in order to answer, twist the ring and press the little tick button to say you’re happy with your answer. Hero’s favourite mode though, is Sing-Along, which has 7 songs from the show to sing to along with Peppa, and the twisty ring operates in this mode to change to the instrument sounds of the character selected – turn to Freddy Fox for example, and you head the maracas! There are classic songs such as the Bing Bong Song [I know you know it], Mommy Pig’s favourite, Birdy Woof Woof, the song we head going around Peppa Pig World, ‘Big Balloon’, and others. The microphone can be stood up if you have a few little piglets who want a go, so everyone can sing around it like a little band with no squabbling. There’s an ACTUAL off switch for this one and two levels of volume, so no Peppa sounds chirruping out in the dark at 2am.

  1. My little girl keeps picking this up each time she walks past it in tesco! I was worried that it’d be one of those noisy but never turns off toys but your review makes me wanna treat her! It’d be lovely for Christmas.
