Wet Weekend Husky Walking…

Sharing is caring!

Lately the weather here has made me wonder whether I need to be building an arc.  Our garden is a mud pit, and going anywhere in the car means battling with Baby Dragon not to nap…because if he does, we’re up until midnight trying to wear him out.  So, we’ve largely been housebound with cabin fever until the weekends.

Weekend walking with Excalibur has been my sanity saver…and theirs too.  I look at these photos and realise how fast they are growing together.

On our walks, there have been crunchy leftovers from Autumn…

..bits and pieces that needed climbing, despite Momma saying it was too dangerous…

…and chances to stretch husky legs.  As we took Excalibur out, we headed to the tennis court for a while.  Siberian Huskies generally should never be allowed to run free off leash for their own safety (think Iditarod through a suburban area) and so a large, enclosed court is just what he needs to blow off some husky steam.

Naturally there was much chasing…

…and those of us with four legs were fitter and faster than the others.

Following all of the chasing and giggling, there was a jailbreak attempt.  Since he doesn’t have opposable thumbs, he decided to enlist the help of his biped brothers.

They took it in turns to be the lookout.

Before we left the court, there was more learning about husky safety…

…and more wistful, wishful thinking on the furry one’s behalf.

We finished our jaunt off with a little bit of leafy stomping…

…and a ride on an elephant…

…before we left our pirate ships to come home for some chocolate chip muffins and warm apple juice.

Next weekend can’t come soon enough.
