Flashback To The Patch 2011…

Sharing is caring!

There’s no doubt that Autumn has arrived here in the South, clad in rich jewel toned sweaters and crisp leafy trousers.  The trees are more beautiful than ever, conkers are beginning to litter the mossy woodland floors and the skies are startling blue.
I love all of the seasons for the activities and memories that they carry with them, but Autumn is special.  Autumn brings scarecrow, bonfire nights, crunchy leaves, and pumpkins.  Pumpkins.  Maybe it’s the Disney Bride in me, I’m not sure, but I adore them.  Since Jensen Indiana was born and we made our first trip to the pumpkin patch, I have been captivated by them.
We’ll make our annual trek this month ~ our third for Jensen but our first for Baby Dragon.  I’m sure he will love it as much as we do, I’m just praying for fewer puddles than last year… Here’s a little recap on last year’s trip…

We read “It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!” every year; it’s our Autumnal version of “The Night Before Christmas” and since I’ve had a love of Snoopy since I was a toddler, last year we decked Jensen out in a custom embroidered sweater with Linus, Charlie Brown and Snoopy on his belly.  Naturally he had a new hat for his patch visit, little did we know how well the tassled style would work with all of his leaping around.

His first year at the patch it was so easy to get beautiful photographs of him as he was only just walking at 8 months.  This year our Little Adventurer knew his own mind and had his own agenda.  Thankfully it included giggling with Dadda and at some point, choosing his own pumpkin.

We were nearly 7 months pregnant by this time with Baby Dragon.  I looked like a pumpkin too…and I loved it.

Eventually we did get to pick our pumpkins ~ after MUCH puddle jumping.

The patch visit was topped off with a shopping spree in the farm shop and a delicious lunch in the cafe.  I can’t wait for this year’s trip…only two weeks to go!

See you soon Mr Scarecrow!
