It’s no secret that our little Jensen Indiana does not like to go to sleep. He has too much to get done to sleep. Sleep is for the weak. He’s never liked it, always resisted it and for a long time in his first year, did not nap in the day like my friends’ babies did. It drove me crazy.
He does love to read however…and even though it means that sleep is around the corner for him, he enjoys hearing bedtime stories from Dadda. I thought I’d take a look at some of his favourite bedtime literature, in case some of you have little boys who might like these too…
At the top of the list is this amazing book. I bought it before Jensen was born, before he was even conceived even, as I’m a teacher and I thought it would be fun to read to my class. I never did read it to them as they are much too old for this book, and so Jensen received it along with around 100 other untouched titles.
First off, I’m going to say that this cover is fantastic. What little boy doesn’t want to see a picture of a ferocious Tyrannosaurus Rex with his teddy bear getting into bed? Look at the expression on his face. He’s about as mischievous at bedtime as our little Geggins.
The book is written in rhyme which makes is more enjoyable to read as a parent and more interesting to hear if you’re a little one.
