1st Birthday Party Time! I cannot believe that my little adventurer will be two in less than a month. I know every Mummy says it, it goes into the big bag of Mummy phrases along with such gems as, “If you unscrew your belly button your bum will fall off” and, “if the wind changes direction, your face will stick” and (especially for my sister) “If you aren’t good, the gypsies will come, take you away and make you eat badger pie.” But it’s true ~ about the time racing by, I mean, not the pie. Or at least I don’t think so.
So believe what your Mummy says (again, aside from the badger pie). She knows best. Anyway, as I was saying, two years has passed me by in such a rush and I can’t quite believe it, or catch my breath before we head into our third year as a family together.
Not all of the sleepless nights are over; in fact, we’ve been having a few of those lately. When our Little Seahorse arrives we’ll be having a lot more I’m sure (I don’t grow sleepers), but things have changed, moved on, passed. He’s growing into a little boy. My little baby. A boy. I want to pull on the reins and dig my heels in so hard.
So, with his second birthday fast approaching, and because I have been laid in bed all afternoon whilst Jensen Indiana napped and Gav kept watch on him and the huskies, I decided to have a little look back at his party last year. It was so much fun and my first real, “I’m a Mummy” moment. I threw my own child’s birthday party. I can’t tell you how amazing that was for me.
This afternoon I finally managed to create a little First Birthday Book on Shutterfly to add to his growing collection of the library of his life too. I love photobooks!
