PUMPKINS ON PARADE: HALLOWE’EN 2015

Sharing is caring!

Our pumpkins were carved on Jones-time this year; the day after Hallowe’en.  Because when your littles are 4, 2 and 4 months, it’s okay to pretend that carving them the day after is still Halloweeny (yes, that’s a word in our house).  In fact, this whole week, and the weekend ahead of us is still being celebrated as spooky time because with all of the sickness in our house over half term, we managed to have no fun at all.

After practically begging the patch owner to let us have one of the display pumpkins for Baby Hero, we had dropped into the local supermarket on the way home to supplement our acquisition with a few carving pumpkins for our bigger boys.

For the first year, both boys carved their own pumpkins. Lyoto’s is left, Jensen’s is right.  Notice the amount of stab marks on the left?  Carving with Little Dragon was reminiscent of the shower scene in Psycho.

Excalibur admired the creations as he tried to make his usual bid for husky freedom.

There were pumpkiny (the same as Halloweeny) kisses for our newest little patch club member.

Our new little pumpkin joins with his family.

His first pumpkin.  A new light in our life.

Due to a lack of tealights, our pumpkins were both luminous and fragrant with Yankee Candle’s Ghostly Treats samplers.

We made it. Only just, but we made it.  Pumpkin carving, done.

  1. What a wonderful collection of Pumpkins! I've really grown to like Hallowe'en over the years, having been suspicious when younger, not helped by my parents' refusal to let us participate!
